Halloween

Happy Halloween! Boy, oh, boy, Carson sure enjoyed himself.  Lots of walking and lots of candy is exactly what Carson likes.  He looked as cute as ever and is still enjoying his sweet treats.  We can't wait until next year.

Multnomah Falls Excursion

Last weekend, we decided to take a trip up to Multnomah Falls since we had never been. We were really excited to see all of the amazing fall trees and foliage.  Our journey was uneventful, thankfully. Carson was wonderful and once we arrived he was very excited to get out of the car and roam all over.  Mason and I did not expect Carson to enjoy this trip and didn't care if he did; we were here because WE wanted to be here.  Therefore, we were pleasantly surprised when we approach the falls (just at the ground level) to see Carson become overjoyed by the sight of the massive amounts of water that fell into what appeared to him as a giant bath.  Now motivated to make this trip enjoyable for the entire family we set off on the hike (which is only about 1 mile but it is up hill the entire time).  The view was magnificent and we picked the most perfect day to go (beautiful colors, crisp weather, and no rain).  Carson was loving every minute.  On the way up, I carried Carson in our sling/wrap...and I was definitely feeling all of his 20+ pounds by the top....but on the way down Mason carried him and by the end he had nestled up close to Daddy and fell asleep. Ahhh, so cute.

The other day, Carson showed interest in the apple that I was getting out of the fridge.  I asked him if he would like some and he got excited.  Reassuring him that I was going to cut him a piece, I started to get the knife out. He, quite quickly, realized that that was not what he wanted at all and started to throw a fit.  In an attempt to figure out what he wanted I offered him the entire apple and it was not surprising to discover that he enthusiastically accepted the apple and took off.  I had to hurry to catch up with him in order to capture the moment.

It is amazing how time has flown by.  This picture was taken back in June, Carson was 10 months old and Mason was still in his second year of Optometry school.  I felt like all of my time was consumed by Carson and anything I had left was devoted to Mason. 

Today, Mason is approaching the half way point in his third year of school. Carson is nearly 14 months and there is no stopping him now.  And I am expanding my horizons as I attempt several different hobbies like sewing, blogging, and drawing. I guess we will see where life takes us.

My Baby is 1 year old today!

I can't believe it.  Mason and I have survived a year of parenthood.  Amazing.  It definately has not always been easy but we are happy to have such a wonderful little boy in our lives.  Carson you bring us so much joy and happiness.  You are just a little lump of cute.  Your eyes light up when you see me and your snuggles I cannot go without.  Daddy and I will always love you.  Happy 1st birthday, Bubba!

My Little Man

My little man turned 10 months old yesterday.  I really can't believe how far we've come.  Carson is such a blessing to our little family and we are just so happy to have him here.  I spent some time yesterday looking through some pictures of him and it is truly amazing how much little babies change and develop in just a few short months.  Carson loves life.  Carson makes everyone around him happy and he literally stops random people in their tracks due to his contagious smile and pure excitement.  He is a crawling maniac and loves to do exactly what he is not supposed to. Before we know it, he is going to be 1 years old and walking everywhere.   

It's Official!

I am now officially a blogger.  Crazy.  I never thought that this day would come.  Oh well.  It's been fun.  Maybe the next thing I will be doing is scrapbooking and quilting.  Yeah right. I guess time will tell.
